Red Wings Holmstrom Injured By Cindy Ferguson Holmstrom is one of the team’s star players and has contributed throughout the regular season with 30 goals and 22 assists in the role of left wing. Ken Holland, the Red Wings general manager, informed the press that the doctor is treating Holmstrom. The doctor wants him to sit aside until there is absolutely no blood left in his eye before they recommend him to play again. Holland hopes to have him back soon as they are scheduled to start their second round series Thursday night against the San Jose Sharks.
Another of the Red Wings players who is out is their defenseman Brett Lebda who is suffering from a sore ankle and concussion. He hasn't played since Saturday when he twisted awkwardly into the boards while checking Daymond Langkow. Lebda has supplied the team during his 74 games with 5 goals, 13 assists and a concrete defense.
The Red Wings have gotten off to an excellent start in the series and fans and the team itself hopes that this second round will be as satisfying as the first one and that
