Insane Hockey Refs It has long been said that a picture is worth a thousand words but this one pretty much sums up what is currently going on in the National League. I don't know who started this photo floating around the internet but if you can make your claim I will certainly give you credit. At the beginning of the season with the new rules it was to be expected that there was going to be an adjustment period but let's call it like it is here folks the truth is the situation is totally out of control. I don't know if the commissioner of the NHL is either unwilling or unable to correct the situation but in either event it's just plain wrong. I don't really care which team you follow I know that you have had issues with the officiating. If you don't then just go back to sleep and forget about it! The NHL is now able to make the claim that they have the worse officiating of any professional sport in the world! This is a sad state of affairs to say the least. After watching this season I would liken it more to a circus than a professional sporting event. The commissioner either needs to fix this problem post haste or get out of the way so that someone competent can. I really don't say this lightly as I
have stated it was to be expected that there would be an adjustment period but let's call it like it is this is a disaster! I happen to follow a particular team as I am sure you do but putting that aside I have watched a variety of games being a fan of the sport and it doesn't seem to matter which game I watch the officiating is a joke. This either needs to be fixed or the commissioner needs to resign to make room for someone who can fix the problem. It is in the best interest of the sport! I understand that the revenues from don't even come close to the revenues generated from other sports in terms of TV dollars but let's face it that will never happen as long as it appears to the audience that this is nothing more than a circus on ice. I encourage you to cut and past the message below into your e-mail and send it to the NHL demanding that something is done about this travesty! There are really only two answers for letting this situation exist, which are that either the refs have been bought or they are just stupid. I for one hope that it's the latter!.
